Isn't it amazing how people treat their cell phones? They take it everywhere, they're reading messages on it, and if they don't have it they feel lost. I wish that people would do the same with their bibles. Take it everywhere you go. When you need advice, open and read it, (like you would do a text message). And when you don't have it, you should feel lost and dismayed, because you have nothing to guide you throughout your day. What do you think?

Isn't that the truth?  It reminds me of an article I found a while back called "Isn't It Funny?".......talking about how we don't think a thing about dropping $50 to go "treat" ourselves or buy an HDTV we've been wanting....but when asked to tithe or donate, we pinch our pockets shut so quickly??

It would be interesting if people had the regard for their Bibles that they do for their cell phones

I love each day like its my last! Why do we are have to be so serious?

LOL Oh this would be a bad thing for my bible.... MY phone yes goes every where I go, but I drop it ALOT, my kids have spilt stuff on it, It gets stuck in my pocket when I have to work and I IGNORE it when it rings...  So therefore my bible would get abused and neglected if I treated it like my phone….

I never really thought about that, but i agree totally! I remeber i would read my bible out someplace and i would get smirks about it because for some reason in a world of "tollerance" it is unacceptable for a christian teen to give his heart to Jesus and show it in public. But i go to my phone for help, but next time, i will reach for my Bible.

Is it disrespectful or "wrong" to bring a bible into the crapper???

People always check and play games on their cell phones in the toilet.

Nah, i don't think so, as long as your reading it. But thats my opinion, my great granddad kept a bible in his bathroom, lol.

I personally  treat my Bible as a book to live by and my cell phone as somewhat of a neccessary nuisance. I think it's somewhat unfair to compare the Holy Bible to a cell phone. It's almost comparing apples to oranges. I keep a small Bible in my patrol car next to my bed and if I go over night I bring it with me. I do read the Bible a lot, But I don't see putting it on my belt next to my cell phone. If I need advice which does happen.  I can usually think of a story from the Bible and go from there. When I need advice I hope the Holy Spirit can tell me what I should do.

I tried to take your advice and wrecked my new car today, thanks a lot.

I worked at a christian bookstore in charge of the bible department for 5 years. I can't tell you the number of times people would come into the store and complain about the cost of a bible. Of course you can get a bible for free if you want, or very cheaply from the dollar store or a used bookstore-but they want top of the line leather and all the trimmings, just don't want to pay for it. I would point out how much people go out to eat and think nothing on dropping $20 or more on dinner, or how expensive movies are, or disigner clothes-and that would usually do the trick. I'm humbled that there are people in China that secretly pass around a single page from the bible to memorize, and yet there are some (sadly myself included sometimes) that take this privelage for granted. There is simply no excuse to not read God's Word. You can find it on the internet, Ipods, MP3's, tv-almost everywhere you can think of. Great comment about making it against the law-I imagine if it was punishable to read the bible, society would soon find out who the true Christian's are and who is just goin through the motions.
