Conducting Skip Traces
Posted 6 months ago I am interested in conducting a skip trace on someone and I need some input from anyone who has conducted one. I am looking for the best and the lowest price search. I have limited funding at this time so I need some reasonable priced suggestions. |

| Posted 6 months ago Well unfortunately you can't use my method. I call the state police intelligence section and they trace their name DOB and SSN. They usually have a location within about 15 minutes. Pain is weakness leaving the body. Obstacles are what we see when we take our eyes off the goal. |

Your profile shows you are a police officer, if so, why would you need to ask this question? |

| Posted 6 months ago I asking this question because this is not a police issue. It is a personal issue therefore I can not use my police contacts for this. |

| Posted 6 months ago I'm gonna sound like a nerd here, but what exactly is a skip trace? I've never heard that term before.... If you don't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them. |

| Posted 6 months ago Skiptracing (also skip tracing) is a colloquial term used to describe the process of locating a person's whereabouts for any number of purposes. A skiptracer is someone who performs this task, which may be the person's primary occupation. The term comes from the word "skip" being used to describe the person being searched for, and comes from the idiomatic expression "to skip town," meaning to depart, perhaps in a rush, and leaving minimal clues behind for someone to "trace" the "skip" to a new location. Skip tracing tactics may be employed by debt collectors, bail bond enforcers (bounty hunting), private investigators, attorneys, police detectives, or as a part of any investigation that entails locating a subject whose contact information is not immediately known. |

| Posted 6 months ago You can contact a private investigator. There are databases that require cradentials to use. The PI will want to know why you need this info, and should ask for proof. I find it hard to believe a police officer needs to ask for help with this. Why don't you go to a detective? |
